I recommend standard discs and either Pagid Blue or mintex 1144 for pads.

I use Mintex 1144s on mine and they're great, much better than the 'Green Stuff' ones i used previously

Good advice

I tried loads of different discs and pads on my GTI-6 and Std discs with either of the above pads or indeed Ferodo DS2500's are excellent. The Ferodo's make a lot of dust tho not that it matters on a track car.

With my GTi-6 set up, I use cross drilled and grooved discs with Mintex 1155 pads. My car is track only. I find this a good set up. The pads work well even when stone cold.

I've also tried a set of green stuffs and I liked them, the only problem with them is they are really soft and wear out quicker, lots of dust.

I need a new set of pads soon myself and I think I'll give the Ferodo ds2500's a go to see what there like.

if it's a track toy then mintex 1155s work well; that's what I use. the gti-6 discs aren't that thick are they ? Thicker is better for track setup; minimises warping

I use standard GTi-6 discs and Ferodo DS3000 pads, I would recommend this to anyone! Fantastic.

Spiky, speak to Mike at R&B Motorsport, he sorted mine out and DS3000s for the rear as well.

Do you need such heavy duty pad at the back? as after all, the fronts are doing most work and DS3000's have a higher working temperature than most pads and as such will take longer to reach it in rear calipers.

I agree with that. The rears will never get up to the correct running temperature compared to the front. That's why I run 1155s on the front and 1144s on the rear

DS3000's @ the front - No worries.

Std. @ rear.

I guess it depends, running on slicks I can apply brakes liberally, in a messy, skill-less fashion and get away with it. Using the bias control you can chuck more braking to the rear until they warm up, but to be honest I find the DS3000s work very very well from cold and it is a bit of a myth about them not working until very hot.

DS3000s very good from cold, great hot but I've had problems with pad deposits and bad judder on the last set I had.

Yellowstuff are a very good alternative IMO and cheap £40ish from Larkspeed, work perfectly at Cadwell last year for me. In fact I prefer these to DS3000s now as the bit is less agressive (DS3000s is comical as you need only light pressure to lock the wheels at spead), the Yellowstuff are easier to modulate and feel the better for it IMO. I'd guess DS3000s would be great with track/slick tyres though.
