jonnie205 1 Posted February 9, 2007 trim rear bumper or move it rearwards on its mounts, should not rub tho unless your beam is shagged
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted February 9, 2007 Just curious but why do you want to slam it to the floor it will handle terrible!?

Discostu 6 Posted February 11, 2007 One of my previous 205's was 'slammed' on 16's, i wouldn't recommend it tbh. Took the fun out of the car: Please ignore the rear lights - i was young and vulnerable
GLPoomobile 958 Posted February 11, 2007 (edited) Personaly I think all hot hatches look best slammed, within reason. But as driver's cars it just isn't practicle and ruins the driving experience. Having said that, reading about Maxi's SLA recently it appears that his is lowered 50mm and has a 309 beam, and he certainly seems to drive it in anger from what I've read. I can't imagine he has much useable travel on the back, and his wishbones probably sit below horizontal at that height, but it obviously works or him. You shouldn't have problems with the bumper rubbing unless the bumper is not alligned properly or your beam has a problem. I did find on my last 205 that one wheel would rub the front of the arch down near the sill because I was missing a bup stop so it would bottom out if I hit a nasty dip. Guest BIG_G Posted February 11, 2007 what i'm thinking of doin now is lowering it 50mm on the frount and 2 splines on the rear (aprox 50mm i think?) and getting some poly flex bushs
Discostu 6 Posted February 11, 2007 The red one i had pictured above had poly bushes fitted, i found they pulled u into bumps and humps in the road, i didnt like the feel it gave the car. never had any problems with the wheels rubbing the bumper tho
GLPoomobile 958 Posted February 11, 2007 Also, there was a long discussion on here a while back (OK, so it was probably over a year ago actually) about poly bushes and it seems that a lot of the ones on the market fail quite quickly compared to OE bushes. I don't have any personal experience though, as never used poly bushes.
