s16 Peggy 0 Posted February 6, 2007 Does anyone know where I will be able to locate an oil cooler kit for the 306 S16? I have seen a few listed for the 205, MI16 etc but not the S16. Would anyone know if one from a 205 would be interchangable? Cheers in advance
Anthony 1,003 Posted February 6, 2007 205/Mi16 one will fit the S16 engine fine, just a case of checking that the oil cooler pipes are long enough and you've somewhere suitable to mount the oil cooler radiator
welshpug 1,677 Posted February 6, 2007 looky here - http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=340 I'm sure someone will be along shortly to advise the best capacity unit to use.
welshpug 1,677 Posted February 6, 2007 you need a sandwitch plate (SP1D) an installation kit, either a straight set of rubber or stainless braided hoses, or a kit with an oilstat. 205 kit with oilstat is part number (OC11828ST) not sure if that would have long enough hoses though shown here - http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/produ...roducts_id=2170 oilstats on their own - http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=340_528 give them a call, they may actually do a kit for the S16 but not list it on the web, or if not theyll be able to make one up from individual parts. Miles 331 1 Cars Posted February 6, 2007 Best to make your own up, Mounting varies depending if you have the single or twin fan rad cowling really, Twin fan is quite easy or the single fan a nightmare due to lack of room,

Thanks for the help. I will have a look at my setup tomorrow and work out the best place to mount it, then measure what hoses I will need. I will probably give think automotive a call tomorrow as I have used them before and they were very good.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted February 7, 2007 The other thing you'll need is a new hollow bolt or thread hollow into the block so you can bolt the above on (Joy's of Iron blocks) that holds the sandwich plate on as the std one is too long due to the heat exchanger that's fitted to them, The pipes can be made at a local pipe company.
