MikeHunt79 0 Posted February 4, 2007 My seats have foam coming out... I've found a 306 at a breakers, that has nice seats in. Anyone know if they'll fit? If not, I'll have to find some 205 ones.
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted February 5, 2007 i've recently measured front and rear seats of 205 GTI and 306 GTI6 with the intention of fitting the 306 ones into the 205, but the rears are too wide and wrong shape, while fronts are not *that* wide (about the same as 405 seats), but their runners / baseplates are. apparently it's possible to fit them if you take everything off the bottom of them and create custom baseplates and use 205 runners. not sure if you'd need to cut-out the original mounting rails and make new mounting points on the floor as the seats may get too high. personally, i decided not to bother with it as it looks like too much work. hope this helps. MikeHunt79 0 Posted February 5, 2007 yep, that sounds like a lot of work... My runners are fine, but it sounds like a right cufuffle. I'll have to carry on hunting for some nice 205 ones. I'm not really that worried about rears really... If they don't match, it's not the end of the world. Right now, my front seats don't even match.
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted February 8, 2007 easy to fit with some spacers...the 306 seats are a straight fit into a 309/405...if you want to put the in a 205, basically use the same adapters to get 309/405 seats in a 205.
MikeHunt79 0 Posted February 8, 2007 Nice! Where do you get these spacers from? I've never heard of 'em before.
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted February 9, 2007 the 306 seats are a straight fit into a 309/405 on the GTI-6 seats i have, the outer sliders are side-mounted and i don't think that's the case with my 405 . i'll check tomorrow.

Nik, as you may have noticed, 309GTI seats we were discussing about are the same design as in 405Mi, except folding runners of course.. However tempting may be, 306 seats are just plain too big for 205 cabin, IMHO. But.. As far I have seen, 106 Sport/ 106 Rallye seats are very similar in appearance and dimensions to 205GTI ones. Not sure about runners, but these may also fit as 106 shares much of its deisgn with 205. Maybe this is the solution we're looking for... cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted February 10, 2007 Hilgie & MH> i've checked my T16 today and the runners looks the same as on a 205 (although wider spacing) and they must be exactly the same as on 309's. and i still can't figure out how are 306 GTI6 seats a direct fit into a 405, as the runners are completely different (the outer ones are side mounted to the car as i said earlier) . pugrallye 0 Posted February 10, 2007 its quite easy to do, i used to have some in my 205, welded 205 runners onto the base of the 306 frame

Did you check runners-seat mounting points (not the runners-shell ones)? Maybe it's possible to straight-fit 309/405 runners on 306 seat? @ pugbliss: I have an 106 on the drivevay, but unfortunaltely no spare time to take out the seat and check.. Maybe someone else can confirm this combo? Edited February 11, 2007 by MH_
