well not much of an update.

 

wiring is pretty much done, car is all running again and all gauges working, eventually..lol as i accidently removed a live for the rev counter..oops.

 

need to replace the exhuast manifold, if it's all done in time, i may do a track day with a mate at outlon park in october :P

 

also had some 309 arms modified :lol:

Look very similar to the guys at combe yesterday, J.S. Engineering in wales :P anychance he had something to do with them?

never heard of them,

 

had the inserts made at rally weld, and welded at a local bike builder's place :lol:

What will you use to connect to the hub now the ball joint is gone? Welding is a work of art! :wacko:

What i thought. How did you ensure the geometry will be correct? Excuse me if thats a stupid question!

Considering how well it handles already will be immense with more camber!

you mean the angle of the rose joint? its the same angle as a std wishbone :wacko:

 

i'm hoping it will handle better too, the castor on the eccentric top mounts will be at maximum and will get the neg cam from the wishboens :D

 

few other little changes that i will post up soon too :D

I'm coming up on the 21st of oulton,

 

currently as a second driver/passenger to my mate (stevew on here)

 

though i am aim to get mine ready so i can do it too :), needs new ex manifold but i can take it anywhere

well, finally sorted my wheels and had them swapped over onto the C5 wheels (3 sets now..lol ) slicks will go on the third set :rolleyes:

 

gave it a wash in the rain today, and cleaned off all the rubber, it dont look half bad clean :P

 

ready for mallory next week :D

 

what you think? good or bad? :D

Will be interested to see your comments on the C5 wheels Spiky.

 

On a related note I changed the wheels on my GF's C2 VTS from the std 16" alloys to the C5 wheels last weekend. Made a massive difference, much more than I expected. The car felt much more eager to pick up from low revs.

you will from that change, as you have gone from 16" to 15" :)

 

smaller wheels better accelaration :lol:

Typed that previous post super fast as it was the end of lunch! lol

 

Yeah, only a 3mm diff in radius so shouldn't be noticable. That's less than the difference between new and worn tyres.

 

It's probably more noticable as the C2 doesn't have much torque, but it really highlights that I should be using the C5 wheels on my car and not std 1.9 (SMR) wheels!

 

You may not notice as much difference with you engine/car but it gives you confidence in all the theory!
