the cossie's were in a different league on the open road,

the saff would get totally wasted on track i think against the pug (due to being 2wd)

the escort had amazing grip, jsut never did many track days in it. shame really

My brother has a big turbo motorsport escos on 16k miles but as you can imagine it only does about 10 miles a year! Shame but too nice to abuse, thats why i have a shonky 309, dont ever feel guilty beating it sensless.

What did you do about the heat shield Spiky? Mine's the piddly little thing that came with the 8V.

The coolant pipes look like they're in for a roasting <_<

Managed to get some times on my phone for spiky as I was filming him,

its not the most accurate way of timing but being continuous split times give a good indication of lap times

these are from the session with the golf

1:23.30 = 1:23.30

2:45.82 = 1:22.52

4:07.18 = 1:21.36

5:29.76 = 1:22.58

8:15.87 = 2:46.11 (missed the split!!)

9:38.83 = 1:22.96

Please someone check the maths as I’ve been up since 4:30 this morning and just got back from work

These times were from the last session

1:23.67 = 1:23.67

2:46.86 = 1:23.19

4:10.24 = 1:23.38

5:34.09 = 1:23.85

again need to check the maths

not sure if you had a passenger for both these sessions or not but very impressive stuff :D

Regularly doing 1:18's I believe in the saloons for upto 1800cc.

I thought the only 106 in the 18s was dave kift? could be wrong I just remember seeing it on a qually sheet and thinking he did well.

Not really putting you down, these guys drive the same track constantly for years, and spend alot more on their engines. Its not all about times either really is it now, you enjoy yourself and everyone else enjoys themself. Now if it was a competition maybe but its not. Id be happy if I could get myself a 1:40 to be honest... which aint going to happen with no car to do it in!

Spiky's times are really good for a trackday, the CCS racers are pretty highly developed cars with serious engines, driven by people that know the track inside out; although they are running on proper road tyres, eg Toyo T1Rs! That 205 record is 1.16.9 IIRC.

Yeah and it was set back in the times when the cars would batter the posts away from the chicanes to allow them to cut them tighter.
