Spikey,

Any chance you could take some pictures of how you have fixed the windows in now please?

Also I am going to chop the insides from my doors. What have you done about the sharp edges that are left?

File them down or have you taped them up etc?

windows not secure yet, i have somes days off now (starting tomorrow), so want to get lots done on the car,

will be buying some nuts and bolts tomorrow to sort the windows

as the edges, will pass the drill grinder over them, and then i might just tape they up, or get hold of some sticky rubber and fold over the edge

To fit my home made perspex windows in I cut up a door rubber into a load of small inch long pieces then put the window in the frame and used bits of the door rubber ever 5 inches or so pushed into the frame gap from the inside so holding the window outwards. I also drilled 3 small holes along the bottom edge and put 3 tiny nuts and bolts through from the inside then just did a layer of silicon sealer around the frame from the outside, been waterproof for 3+ years now!

Get yourself a copy of the 'Car Builders Solutions' or checkout there website www.carbuildersolutions.co.uk they sell all types of rubber trim to finish off your sharp edges on your door internals, it's not expensive only £2.50 / m

ok, a little update on the 205,

i have modified the TCA's so they sit futher in the car, the inner rear is welded in place while the inner front is still adjustable :)

and we cut and re-welded the outher sleve further out so there was more threads inside the insert for safety, due to us having the arm further in

Looks like i shall be ringing them up as soon as i can then for a hatch looks good,

Spiky after testing my bonnet around anglesey on saturday 4 pins isn't really enough as in the middle it starts to wobble quite violently so going to put 1 more in the front at the middle. Hopefully reducing the shaking/vibrations.

Fitting is easy really just have to have the patience to make sure everything is allingned well before any marks are made. I got my dad to lend a hand as it would of been a lot more difficult on my own. A trick i used to get the holes marked up on the underneath of the bonnet was a spot of red paint on top of the pins and gently lowered it to the marks i had made with masking tape so i knew it was marked exactly. The little red dots were very easy to spot on the back underside of the bonnet :). Then got to work with a 1/8 drill and kept checking the fitment as i went along drilling/flling the holes to the sie of the pins. Any more info then PM ...

Cheers

Phil

mmm, was hoping 4 pins would have been enough :D as 5-6 looks a little rubbish :(, maybe i'll strengthen it in the middle then

cheers for the heads up though

whats your rationale for doing this, if you don't mind me asking spikey?

bascially becuase they didn't fit, he has sold arms after the group buy, rung the customer and they fitted fine, so i just modified mine to fit my car
