Never taken the pug to pod, and fancied a run up the strip

So yesterday it had 3 runs up the strip

It survived the day fine :)

But I was only launching at 3000 revs

Here is the vid from run 3 my quickest time

12.88 @112mph

Here is my timing sheet

very quick! nice one. Good job on the fuel side as well. How is the seat clearance?

I managed ok with hardline in the end. No leaks yet, touch wood, and was relatively cheap. But not having fuel surge is friggin awesome! haha can start with 1/2 tank in quali now rather than filling it right up the filler neck :)

cheers,

clearenace is fine, but i am short :)

nice one on hard lines, did you use -6 (an6) teflon lined?

no fuel surge is a great thing,

i've been on track, carried away playing with a cateram and noticed the fule light on, no issue though :)

indeed, I think my fuel gauge was reading empty for last half of race, but once stopped returned to 1/3 :)

Hardlines are standard Peugeot under floor steel fuel lines. I then ran out of this so got some Aluminium hardline off demon tweeks which was much easier to bend! All 8mm OD. Grommet'd through the floor down the side of the tank as per original flexi lines, and grommet'd through floor to the OEM pump. I have double clipped everything with stainless fuel hose clips and the swirl pot / 2ndary pump are boxed with sealing glands used for the fuel pipes into the box. I was a little dubious of my own efforts at first but I think with only 3bar fuel pressure it should be ok. Flexi fuel hose under car and in the box is just braided rubber 8mm ID hose. No smell, no surge, no leaks, and straight through scrutineering. Will be keeping a close eye on it though!

car has been running great with the charger, except when flat out on track, the water temps rise and stabilse around 95-100

normally it used to be 80

i've put it down the fact the intercooler is twice and thick as rad and is slight bigger, and fitted right in front of it,

so to test this theroy, i bought a 2wd cosworth intercooler to see if that helps

as the intercooler is now above the rad, so nothing infront of the rad anymore

see pic's

would probably benefit from some simple sheet steel or plastic cowlings, air takes path of least resistance of course.

Surely your inlet temps will rise dramatically now?

WP, yeah, thought about this, and probably need it

allye, any reason? superchargers dont generate the same temps as turbo's, plus this intercooler is known for being effiencent at cooling, and is probably better than the "low boost" intercooler i should have been running, as i was running the high boost cooler

i will be fitting some cowling to allow cold air to the ait filter, or maybe place the air filter somewhere else

cool, saves worrying about battery life

i bought a new case (cheap ebahy ones, £12) and drilled a hole in the side

so use my genuine case on the outside of the car, took a vid stuck on the lower part of my door, , takes a cool vid, sadly cant show on here..lol

We'll after 7 years , well will be on the 1st of jan, I've decide to sell the 205

Mainly as I have no time and money to do lots of track days each year

Sadly there is no point me advertising complete as no one is going to give me the same as I can from breaking (around 8k)

So. Soon I will be advertising the parts for sale, the whole car will be for sale

No dibs, first to pay gets it :)

Bring on my next car, which I will track :), a E46 m3 with smg gearbox

Massive shame spikey. And a loss to the scene I would say. I hope you keep your finger in the 205 pie in one way or another though.

Just read your whole build thread.

Shame to break it as it looks like you've developed it well, and guess the car has kind of 'grown' with you.

However I've been there - only way to get decent money is to break it.

If you do of course I'll help you by buying the boot lid etc off you. lol.
