[trackday_prep] My 205 GTI-6 Supercharged Track Car

Recommended Posts

oli-pug

Lighter wheels made a massive difference to acceleration response and ride quality on my car.

I have a set of 15" O.Z Superleggeras for trackdays but did use them on the road for a while earlier on this year, and the car felt much more comfortable and sure footed on b-roads.

I might look at getting some of these c5 wheels as well, what's the caliper clearance like Spiky?

How much do the steels save over smr's then? Is it really that noticable?

I like the police camera action style. Is it in night vision or just uses a low light setting as the quality is very good. Theres quite a bit of feedback from the mic though which is not good.

well the camera is set to daylight and

I not selected night as the control pad was home( though I

only just realised it does have a setting for day and night ),will try night setting and see what it's like

the mic, is me using my old video camera as the two mic's I have are no good one is way to sensitive and the other is faulty , which I have sent back and upgrading to an "exhaust" mic so it should be less sensitive, so hoping I can mount it right in front of the throttle bodies

for this weekend I will positin the mic (video camera) more forward as it's currently sat behind me above the second file

pump

I now purchased a set of Genuine PTS Bilteins front's (except inserts, as i already have bilsteins inserts)

i bought these as my current compbrake bodies, wouldnt let me lower the car enough, without bottoming out.

and as you can see the bodies are around 30mm shorter, so solvers my problem

is it not the bumpstop in the damper insert that5 controls how low it'll sit? or has it been bottoming out on the top of the body instead of the damper's bumpstop?

On a flat track I could run the car quite low, but as I drive to track and roads are bad I need more travel, so this was my only option, or get a different suspension.

Top of body

I've been running it higher for the last year with Zero issues,

But I want it lower to get more camber and look better

The c5 wheels only weigh 4.75kgs

Aren't those C5 wheels were just the spare supplied on C5's fitted with alloys?

No cameron, any c5 which don't have normal alloys has these steelies :), except citroën made them from alloy not steel

You can buy then dirext fr around 65 each and aboy 35 forthe wheel bolts,

if you buy a set, make sure the wholes are tapered and not flat

Im sure WP did a thread either on here or the 306gti6 forum late last year about these alloy C5 wheels.

Part numbers and all.
