sutol 0 Posted January 30, 2007 question on factory fitted alarm I have been told by the previous owner of my Gentry that it has a factory fitted alarm and it was a pig. I would usually check out any wires to the ign and ecu that looked as though they had been 'added' and take it from there to dissable the alarm system but is it more complicated with a factory fitted set up? I suppose it may work when the car is eventually up and running but I would rather cut it out. Thanks
sutol 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Got you with this one eh Never mind, we have got until May to sort it out. Perhaps a picture might help, it's a bit dark but then it is nearly 10pm
allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted January 31, 2007 my sorrento had a factory (supposedly) fitted alarm and it was butchered into the wiring at the fuse box rather than at the ignition. simple to remove though as they hadnt even bothered to solder the wires in. al
sutol 0 Posted January 31, 2007 . simple to remove though as they hadnt even bothered to solder the wires in. al To be honest I havn't looked at it yet as it is parked five miles away. Hope mines the same then, I wasn't sure if it came from Peugeot with alarm fitted or maybe fitted at the dealers, if fitted at the dealers it will be a piece of cake to 'unfit' so could be good news after all cheers

Miles 331 1 Cars Posted January 31, 2007 Most Pug Alarms where dealer fitted and where the top quality 'Moss' one which normally lasted just over 1 year, so removing them is easy or if you;ve got the key just turn it off and it's a feature when sold, Only on a 'L' Reg GTi have I seen a Proper Factory alarm of sorts as some of it was missing, easy to tell as it had all the 205 style plugs and crimps
