No Compression, Bent Valves

Recommended Posts

Guest Stev-o

Hi there guys, I posted back in November about breaking my cambelt. Well I had a new belt put on and there is no compression! Not sure what to do whether to put a new engine in or repair if possible the old one?Any ideas would be appreciated, also as to where I can source a reliable engine from!

Many thanks,

Steve

Id take the head off before making any firm decisions. If the pistons are good and liners/rings in good shape then just source a decent head or even a set of valves if your head is ok. Much easier to do a head swap/valve swap than a full engine swap.

Yeah but if you have the tools then engines are cheap and need not take as long as you'd think. You take a risk on the quality of the engine you are putting in though.

Either way if you have the tools then you loose nothing just to whip the head off and have a look.
