Omp Exhaust

anyone used the omp group a or group n exhaust?seen them on ebay and wondered if they are good bad or nfg want one to go on a mildly tuned 1600 rally car

alternately what about ashley twin box systems need to do something cos last time out it noisetested louder than an ex works scooby!!!

I have one of their Grp N ones on my Mi16 equiped Visa and I bought it off Ebay. Nice quality etc, 96db at 4500rpm from 1 metre so well inside all noise test limits for my sprints. Unsure if it changed power at all but it made 168bhp on my old exhaust which had a larger exit but couple of mm smaller pipe going into the start of the silencer where I think it was strangling it a bit.

i have used both but just recently changed to a group A as its stainless but the group N felt better for my 1.9 than the group A. both were less than 100db but personally for the extra £20 the group A costs id get that as its stainless steel!

OMP Grp. N and A are both Aluminized Steel.

 

They do a Grp. N in Stainless which is 50mm v's 48mm for the std. Grp. A is 63mm.

 

Grp A is LOUD!! If not now, then it will be when the baffles are blown out....

That second one is the one I have and it is still bloody loud with two boxes, god knows what the single box will sound like

I have an Ashley Twin box on mine,cheap and cheerfull BUT bloody loud !,wouldnt go there if you want something thats gonna be quiet !

The twin box one is the Group A. It is louder than the Group N, yes. IIRC it is above the acceptable levels to be used on track.

if youre after a quiet but well performing exhaust an Arvin o.e item or a custom built stainless steel system is your best option.

Omp Grp N for my Visa GTi is ~50mm tailpipe, I have no other silencers boxes just a straight through exhaust from the Mi16 lump and its 96db at 4500rpm measured at 1 metre which is easily inside most track day limits

I have the grp N OMP with 2 silencers on my road rally car. 1.9 8v . In noise test it is always around 92db at 3/4 max rpm.

The best thing is that the silencers are small, don't hang as low as the oem and are easier to add skid plates to.

thats the system i have and its not loud at all! my mates PUG sport on his SAXO(lol) is louder than my exhaust and ive had it on 3months and its had loads of abuse so the baffles best hurry up n blow out cos im VERY disapointed in the noise as the group N was louder i had
