How To Choose The Right Ecu?

Recommended Posts

chris1986

i'm just in the process of buying a 1.9 engine, but as it wasn't in the car it didn't come with a coil or ecu, did all 1.9s come with the coil on the inlet manifold? also how can you tell what sort of ecu to put on it, unless theyre all the same. oh and what compression readings should i get so i know its a good one or not, one last question did they bring out 2 1.9s with differant power ratings, if so whats the differance and how can you tell.

thanks people

the engine code will help alot. there was a cat and non-cat, i think thats it as far as power ratings. if it loks like a coil can fit on the manifold then it did, assuming thats the origional manifold, some came with the coil on the side of the engine bay. give it a compression test then ask about them readings as there is no definate answer, just make sure there similer.
