Guest Nablas Posted January 16, 2007 I´m rebuilding my 1.9 and want to install carbs. As I´ve read from old topics, normal choice would be 45´s for a tuned one and 40´s for standard. It´s going to be just a fast road setup, and I can get a pair of 40´s from a friend. Other mods will be a 286º cam and increased CR to 10.5:1 ~ 11:1. Will it be ok, or should I go to 45´s? rescue dude 0 Posted January 17, 2007 40's will be fine. I use them on my 1.9 and it goes very well. 45's will be a bit better but it depends on how much you get them for compared to your friend selling you the 40's IMO.
Guest ashnicholls Posted January 20, 2007 You answered the question yourself. "40´s for standard" "45´s for a tuned one " mods will be a 286º cam and increased CR to 10.5:1 ~ 11:1 Is not standard, 40mm carbs will be a limiting factor with that set up. You will get more power with the 45's with that setup.
