petert 585 Posted January 16, 2007 After a long battle and lots of dicking around, I've finally got the package in. As you can see from the pics there wasn't a lot of room to spare, even after dropping the engine 15mm and grinding away the body seam. The standard 1.9L downpipe flange bolts straight up, although I shortened the down pipe by approx. 6".
Baz 421 Posted January 16, 2007 Blimey that looks close!!
Sandy 191 Posted January 16, 2007 A 306 GTi6 decat pipe fits a treat, with the engine tilted about 15mm at the bottom.
whizzer71 0 Posted January 16, 2007 You dont need to tilt the engine, just cut and tilt the manifold and then get it re welded by a profesional welder ,did mine on my 205 over a year ago fits a real treat, clears the bulkhead/rack nicely hasnt started blowing or anything nasty like that either. Used a gti6 de cat pipe on mine also, almost like it was made for the car !!!
petert 585 Posted January 16, 2007 Could have done that, but I didn't want to have to get it ceramic coated again.
Sam 4 Posted January 16, 2007 Peter, do you know anyone that makes GTI6 head to S16/Mi16 exhaust manifold adapters?
