Fitting A Clutch Pedal

Recommended Posts

sutol

Don't know if this is the right place for this but need to know.

Has anyone fitted a manual box into an auto shell and what parts are required. I have a manual for spares but haven't looked under the dash yet.

I'll finish taking the seats out soon and get down to it, meantime, what sort of a job is it ?

Been off work ill for a couple of weeks and not been out of the house, but on the mend and hope to be in garage sometime this week

Any advice apprieciated and will be noted.

TA :P

you need the pedal box assembly, as well as the complete gear linkage assembly.

Sandy

I'm doing one at the moment and it appears that you only need the clutch pedal and brake pedal, I'll confirm this by Thursday.

Super Josh

You will also need to modify the wiring a little....

The auto has a combined starter inhibitor and reverse light switch. You'll need to bypass the starter inhibitor, it's one of the relays in the box on top of the passenger side wing on a phase 2 car. You will probably need to change the connector for the reverse light switch to one that will fit a manual 'box.

Thanks, never thought about the inhibitor on the auto, would have been curses and relay changes there I think, looking for starting problems :D

Might need that big brake pedal though if taking the servo off :P

seriously though, I'm hoping to just swap pedals and hook up gear linkage, Oh and better inform the DVLA about the change I think, along with new engine number.

Does anyone think that the car will have to be inspected after modification, SVA or something like that ?

Don't want to go down that route :)
