Easiest And Cheapest Way Of Getting Rear Negitive Camber?

Recommended Posts

acox99

Im looking for some rear negative camber, there are kits but stupid price, can you buy a spacer that goes between the hub and the beam? I dont want to spend much, or would it be cheaper to get a company to machine something up. What are people running?

Cheers Ali

Good question! - Cheapest way to get rear neg camber is to get a knackered beam lol :(

I have read that both Miles and xsport also have an offering here, worth comparing price against SBC's neg. camber kit. I'm pretty sure i've also read on here about fitting trailing arms from other cars to achieve the same result.

Would be interested to know the various prices if anyone can find out. SBC aren't easy to get hold of these days.

Handbrake it into a curb on both sides.

Remove the stub axles and rotate 180degrees.

Job done. Stub axles bend before standard speedlines. I know from experience.

I was chatting to a bloke yesterday for ages (only phoned as postal orders had gone awol for my 13 row oil cooler purchase from ebay) who has done lots of work with track prepared cars example the 205 ab motorsport in the recent french car mag. He also advised for negative camber to fit the arms from a 306 which will not widen the track.

But how do you know how fast to hit the kerb? :( I would presume it doesn't do alot for the bearings etc too. :P

I heard ruhmours of zx rear arms, but not tried it myself so can't say for 100% sure.

I know Anthony will be soon though.

I know that ZX rear arms add a small amount of negative camber and have less toe-in than 205/309 arms, but I'm not sure of the exact amount - Sandy309 should have the exact details though.

It depends how much negative camber you want though - the alternative arms aren't going to add anywhere near as much as the negative camber kits have the potential to, but would be a good bet for a road and occasional track car I'd think.

I've not yet fitted my 309/ZX hybrid beam to the car so I don't have any pictures I'm afraid.

im not to sure what sort of camber to go for, its for pure track use, and will be running a 4x4 system, so cant say if il be using the orig 309 arms anyway, SBC kits and miles kit are all over the £200 mark arent they? i was thinking not any more than £80, what model ZX arms, and i take it GTI6 or S16 arms also, what about xsi?

I've yet to look into the 306 trailing arm solution, Just need to find a teccy book like Autodata for the info on this,

The skip brown kit is the cheapest and easiet to fit and also give's a wider rear track too.

Auto data states that the 205 has 0.5 Deg negative camber, ZX has 1 Deg negative camber and 306 has 1.2 Deg negative.

I am almost certain that the 306 arms are wider than the 205 ones.
