Richie-Van-GTi 74 2 Cars Posted January 13, 2007 How rsiky is it taking a screen out and the rubber off? Car still has the original screen and rubber which doesnt leak at all, its the rubber with the deflector shape at the top. Im building a custom dash and screen removal would make things easier but dont want to risk damage to it or create a leak that wasnt there before. Any hints and tips are gratefully recieved. Ren 0 Posted January 14, 2007 Getting a good screen out without breaking it is difficult due to having to put pressure on the glass to push it out. If you really want to do it I would cut the rubber around the glass on the outside and then lift the glass out in tact. Be warned though the rubbers can be expensive. See which you can get the cheapest, either new or second hand and then make your decision. Pm me if you need some more tips. Ren.
