got my 205mi16 up and running late september time but the last six to eight weeks if i leave the car for to or three days the battery goes flat. when the cars up and running i have checked to see that the alternator is charging the battery which it is. i have had 2 new batteries any ideas what can be draining or where to start looking.

cheers mark

try checking all the internal lights, make sure the courtesy/glovebox/boot lights go out when you close them. best way to check it is, when theres life in the battery, leave the car for an hour, then go back to it and check if any of the internal lights feel hotter than they should, having just come on.

hope this makes sense!

The radio/stereo and any immobiliser/alarm is also a strong possibility.

Also, in rare cases, leakage in the alternator rectifier stack can cause this.

Al's suggestions are by far and away the most likely though. The interior light particularly can switch itself on for no good reason as can the boot light. Disconnect or remove their bulbs in turn until the culprit is nailed.
