jim21070 2 Posted January 7, 2007 Thanks all, I clearly have a problem then because mine absolutely files to 6200 rpm most cleanly and then coughs, splutters and hits a wall just like a limiter is cutting in. I assume the limiter works by cutting fuel? In all other respects it is running like the proverbial clock.. I very, very rarely do this but today I have been playing AFMs and timing and was testing. I wonder if that is the root of many problems I am having trying to achieve a stable and steady 900rpm idle. If the sodding thing is slow then idle will be very slow and the rev limiter will appear to cut in early. Maybe by accident I have a nearly good 500rpm idle Thanks Miles, food for thought.
