luggy 13 Posted January 5, 2007 (edited) Swap the bottom ones for the top, What about your old ones?. If all else fails theres always good old plumbers tape. Just make sure you dont overtorque and strip any threads. Edited January 5, 2007 by luggy
Spiky 37 Posted January 5, 2007 where you put the plumbers tape? wrap around the washer
hengti 2 Posted January 5, 2007 was it a non genuine filter and seals? the pattern filters i've had have come with washers that are much wider (in outside diameter) than the genuine pug ones - the oe pug seals have had a much smaller o/d, which seems to help sealing might help

Spiky 37 Posted January 5, 2007 just rememebred i bought the fuel filter at a motor spares place, as it was before i relaised cardiff had GSF had a unit in cardiff now it's all clear i'll pop of GSF tomorrow, and get a new filter
hengti 2 Posted January 5, 2007 the filter's probably fine (although the alloy casing can be relatively soft - you might have compressed the washer into it if you've overtightened it - this might not be be a problem if you have another go with washers with a smaller o/d though). try your local Pug dealer in the morning - i *think* the copper washer part nos are 156256 (x2) and 156244 (x2). they're crush washers, so you shouldn't really reuse them by the way. Richie-Van-GTi 73 2 Cars Posted January 6, 2007 A little side note while reading about fuel filters. The Mk2 2.0 astra uses a similar filtyer, smaller in design, flows just as well and capable of the pressures etc but its setup so you just clamp the fuel hoses either end instead of using the banjo's.
