lagonda 42 Posted December 22, 2006 Scary, actually bolting things back on the car. I'm used to putting grease on head gaskets as I understand it helps them creep/settle, but then I'm used to old cars with copper/asbestos gaskets. I see the Haynes manual states assemble dry. I was thinking of putting grease on the metal ring sections for the liner to head area. Any thoughts anyone?
ORB 227 1 Cars Posted December 22, 2006 no assemble dry. jobs a good un. as long as your head/block is smooth and true and you crank it down evenly and carefully, it will be all good.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted December 22, 2006 As said all dry and oil free as the gasket will self seal, I use the Molly grease that come's with the ARB bolt's (Any molly grease is fine) to go on the headbolts to try and stop the steel and alloy interaction
