Guest ears Posted May 8, 2003 It depends on what paint you have used for the colour coat, you can not really say without know what you have already done,

Guest whitey 205 Posted May 8, 2003 Have you painted it with basecoat and not yet laquered it? Any 2pk laquer will give a good finish if mixed and sprayed well.Should really be laquered within 10 mins depending on air temp.
Guest Hallsy Posted May 9, 2003 Well, base coat can be lacquered once it is touch dry (dries very quickly) , but i don't think that it matters if u leave it a little while, as long as you tack rage and apnel wipe before lacquering. Some lacquers are better than others, Pro-Spray stuff is OK for quickness (no thinner required) but we often use PPG D800 which is nice stuff and not bad price. speedy 2 Posted May 12, 2003 there are 2 types of paints with hardner (apart from cellulose which i hope you ain't using) the first and most common type for a flat colour has no need for a laquer top coat... as it is with the paint, you just need to buff the spray, maybe use a 1500 grade or 1200 sandpaper with water to clear any unwanted insects etc. then buff it. if the paint you gave it needs laquer, just sand down the paint with 1000-1500 grade paper with water then spray the laquer ( max mayer are good for example) than the same applies like the first paint i mentioned.
