bren_1.3 1 Posted December 22, 2006 is it possible to reshape the protusion of the valve guide that reaches into the port? it looks thick enough to have some reprofiling done. i know shenpar remove all of the valve guide that protudes into the port. it was mentioned on here a while ago. does anyone have any thoughts on its ports? any pointers? they look big enough for the valve size to me. axnutty 10 Posted December 22, 2006 Yes you can profile the valve guide so its smooth with the throat. The inlet side is already very good. I generally just remove the castings marks and any slight differences on the ports. As for the exhaust side I find theres quite a lot of work that can be done as they are fairly small in comparison. Theres also a small hump that can be removed I think. Its been sometime since I looked at the injection heads - but there definetly is in the carb'd GT heads. The valve sizes are pretty good to start with. Much much bigger than the carb'd heads again. I have had bigger valves fitted in the past but it depends how far you want to go obviously. Bren there is a tiny bit of flow to be had with removing the guide in the port. I however am going with a reshaped guide. You might it very difficult to re-cut the seat at a later date if you remove this.

I have had bigger valves fitted in the past but it depends how far you want to go obviously. how much bigger is bigger? i believe theyre bigger than the TU24 valves as standard. and how much would a set cost? who does them? yourself? i thought about making the short side bend a bit smoother, its dips quite viciously.
