Sequential injection is difficult on any XU9 as they don't have a reference trigger on the cam. With the standard Motronic crank trigger it's possible to do batch injection and wasted spark ignition, but that's it. If you want sequential injection and/or direct fire ignition, you need to add another trigger. This could be an intergrated hall effect trigger, such as Haltech's, which has two triggers in one body. Alternate north/south magnets trigger the appropriate signal.

Having said all that however, batch injection and wasted spark ignition is good enough for most track/race applications anyhow, even though full race ECU's are sequential. How often to you intend to spend at 3000? Most of the time its wide open throttle and the injectors are at maximum duty.

I looked at the price for those coils when I was in the states and they were like 80 bucks a peice. Nasty.

Can't the XU10J4RS coils be used? It uses four individual coils.

don't think a management system would know when to spark each coil as there is no cam reference, only crank reference (TDC sensor)

Do a search on ebay. They're cheap.

I have been on the v8 forums :) and been quotedd £25 each for them new. Peter - do I need to get hold of anything lese other than the coils, like loom/harness ? I assume my ECU will be all the wiring I need ?

All you need is plug leads! The coils are wired direct from the ECU. They have four connections as per this diagram. Join the two Grounds together.
