vern 0 Posted December 14, 2006 As per title is it worth upgrading the leads from GSF leads to something like magnicur.
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 14, 2006 not really! GSF supplied ones are pretty damn good Beru items, the difference is negligable if there is any at all.
Ahl 4 Posted December 14, 2006 Magnecor leads are just meant to last longer I think, but they cost a hell of a lot more. I guess you have to work out how long you're likely to have the car, and if buying the Magnecor leads or similar would be good economy compared to buying more cheaper sets. gti_al 1 Posted December 15, 2006 How much are those beru ones? I payed $130 (£52) for bougichord (sp?) ones for the mi16, and i haven't seen any cheaper. (other than cheap nasty universal ones)

(other than cheap nasty universal ones) In the UK the Bougicord ones are around £35, from GSF Car Parts. And are O.E. quality, at least. Josh
Jer309GTi 3 Posted December 15, 2006 I got some Mi leads from a local motor factors, just came in a box with a brand I'd never heard of. I opened them up and it was a set of Lucas leads Best bit is they only cost £16 a set!
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 15, 2006 IIRC GSF do the BERU kits for £21.50, and they come with both types of king lead so there wont be any confusion over which to order! (i.e the king lead for inner wing mounting and inlet manifold mounting are both included)
gti_al 1 Posted December 16, 2006 £20... I'll put them on the shopping list then. It looks like i'll be over in april, so i'll be stocking up on this stuff. Has anyone ordered stuff off their website? Does it work ok...? (I ask as i've been having issues with autofive)
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 17, 2006 GSF's site works well, though I dont know about overseas orders you can always ask them first.
Oigen 9 2 Cars Posted December 26, 2006 GSF still suply ignition leads for 1.9 mi16?
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 26, 2006 GSF still suply ignition leads for 1.9 mi16? I should imagine theyre similar to BX 16v leads? no 1.9 16v leads listed for the 405 but they may still be available as the website has dropped many an old partnumber. BX leads are N92618, £29.50 before vat and discount.
Oigen 9 2 Cars Posted December 28, 2006 At 29.50 is the BERU kit? How much is the discount? Regards, Dan
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 28, 2006 29.50 is the price before VAT, GSF do 10% discounts for a lot of owners clubs. not 100% if these are BERU but the 8V ones were so its quite likely these will eb too.
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 28, 2006 drop an email to french@gsfcarparts.com to be 100% certain.
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 28, 2006 actually, just checked an Old brochure (2004) the part number is the same for a 405 1.9 mi16 and were £22 2 years ago!!

S33GAV 0 Posted December 28, 2006 (edited) That's weird. If you go to the home page then click on checkout in the top right (under view basket) then it comes up with a page v.similar to the link above, where you have to enter your details and card info etc, but it isn't https. How did you get to that link? Edit: Hmm, if I hover over the checkout link it indeed has the above url (using https) but for me (at work) it just loads it into the middle frame, weird?! Ok well maybe it's a browser setting or something, sorry. Edited December 28, 2006 by S33GAV
