That Bar For Bumpers/wings

Recommended Posts

bit off an odd one, theres a big L shaped bar on each side of the car at the front, the bumper bolts to this as does the wing restraining bar. Can these still be bought new, or is the bolt that is fixed to them for the wing bar easily removed? When I removed my wings the bolts on both sides sheared off, if I can get the remains free then I could weld a nut to them and reuse them, if notI may have to source new bars

if you remove the front nut you can pull them out as these are the only 2 fixings on them, when Mine sheared I just drilled the remains out and put an M8 bolt in its place, which ideally I should have tacked in place but I didnt, but it wont seize as I used a stainless one ;)

Thanks for part number, Ive got my old ones out, they just slid right out but the remains of the bolt stay there. Wasnt sure if the bolt is just tack welded one side or if its fixed more solidly to the bar.

they were welded pretty solidly to the bar, but a few good tacks on a normal bolt would suffice.

These are still available from peugeot for an amazingly low price of about £8 iirc.

I rang Pug recently to check if they were specifically sided or not when I had one spare to get some alloy ones made up. They aren't specific btw. ;)

I used a coach bolt to replace one of the rusted sheared off bolts before now, no need for any welding.

Graham.
