1.9 Gti Cv Joint Boot Kit

Recommended Posts

Guest Red_SLR

Hi, I am fairly urgent need of a CV boot kit. As a min I need the gearbox end on both sides (might as well do it all whilst I am at it).

Today I went to 3 places to try and obtain said parts.

First motorfactor said there are 3 different types - without seeing which one I have he cant say which one I need and they dont carry any of them in stock anyway. Second Halfrauds - apparently you can only get them from main dealers (yeah right) and lastly before I lost the will to live I tried another motorfactors and they said "we dont stock parts that old"...

The lad in the last place looked at me like I was asking for a Bugatti Royale part... :D

So, can anyone help me out? It would be best if I could order them online - already had to take an hour out of work and its our busy time of year so I dont have much spare time. Or if anyone knows of a supplier in Manchester.

Thanks! :P

GSF or Euro Car Parts should both sell them

As far as I'm aware there is only one type of 1.9 GTi inner CV boot...

Try car http://www.carcaresupplies.co.uk/.

Not sure if it's the inner or the outer that you need but just to say that I had problems with inner CV boots when one split; the factory originals are a cone shape with a long taper from the thin to the fat end, but the replacement stretchy boot just looked like a stubby outer cv joint boot. I fitted it anyway as it fitted the shaft fine and would have been ok but it wore through rubbing the subframe. Took it back and it WAS the right one accordign to them, I only solved it by luckily having an old 309 shaft in the cellar that I could take an original inner boot off.

Tried to order (was going to get both sizes) with ECP but they wont deliver to work - which is useless as I am at work all day.
