frodo_monkey 0 Posted December 13, 2006 Hi, As part of my engine build, I plan on putting bike carbs onto my 1.6... I have acquired a set off an R6 and will shortly be visiting Bogg Bros to get the inlet manifold knocked-up. I'm just wondering if anyone on here has used the R6 carbs before (so I know who to ask for help when I'm stood over the car, scratching my head like a monkey ) Thanks, Frodo
Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted December 13, 2006 (edited) get some 160 weber dgas jets from ebay and visit boggs as early as possible, they have a big waiting list. Edited December 13, 2006 by Richie-Van-GTi

Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted December 14, 2006 Ive got dodsworths carb mani now, IIRC his mate bought the carbs (R1) to go on a redtop engine.
frodo_monkey 0 Posted December 14, 2006 Got my engine (shortly to come back to me to be rebuilt) off Dodsworth-GTi a while ago! His carb setup looked topnotch and was from Boggs - think I'll go with them as they're fairly local and I can give them beak to make it quicker... Haven't been able to start taking out the existing lump yet, for some reason the so-called better half decided we had to get a garden shed last Sunday - which is now filling the entire garage until I can get a spare hour or so to erect it! Sunday, fingers crossed... max0 - drums ok?
max0 5 Posted December 14, 2006 Richie: I think ive meet you before. Did i get a 1.6 engine of your mate who sold dodworth the mi? Frodo: Yeah thanks the drums/bearings are in a lot better condition that the old ones - the bearings where on there last legs, many thanks. Im sure you will have the shed full of 205 bits in no time
