jim21070 2 Posted December 10, 2006 A few days ago the kids finally nagged me into joining Costco, an American-style Cash and Carry Wholesale sort of place. Membership is trade only and selected public servants. Long story short, they have some good deals as long as you buy in bulk, like the box of 36 Yorkie Bars I treated myself to. They are knocking out 20 Litres of Chevron 15W/40 "Trade" oil for a shade over £20. It claims to be fully SJ/CF rated. Can anyone comment on this brew? Is it OK? Given that I change oil at 3000 mile intervals anyway it offers a considerable saving on the more well known brands if it is indeed as good as the specs suggest it is. Costco also seem to do some wicked deals on tyres and have their own fitters in-store. The other good deal spotted was huge tubs of swarfega for just under a tenner
ablister 31 Posted December 10, 2006 yeah, costco are cheap, especially on michelin tyres as you already mentioned. Not sure on the 15w40 oil though; as cheap as it is, don't think it'll be the right grade for your 205. Peugeot's only seem to like 10w40 or 5w30. 15w40 may be a little to thick
