205007 12 Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Im starting to get annoyed with the throttle pedal on my 309 as it has bike carb conversion the travel you get is very small between nothing and full on after i drive my 205 on std injection it is much nicer and more progressive is there any aftermarket solution to this? you cant modify the arm on the carb to make it bigger because it fouls the carb housing has anyone solved this on their car? and i have done a search! mfield 20 Posted December 8, 2006 can you not set something up like a dcoe linkage ? That has a bigger arc turning a smaller one
205007 12 Posted December 8, 2006 possibly, but the people who i have asked about this say there is nothing you can do because of the way the bike bodies are set up
damien 22 1 Cars Posted December 8, 2006 i just put up with it myself, it would feel odd if you dont use the car much but as i use mine dayly im used to it

Richie-Van-GTi 74 2 Cars Posted December 9, 2006 Im currently working on my bike carbs to solve this issue. I think Ive worked it out, will post up some pics if it works
Ryan 99 Posted December 9, 2006 Shorten the bar on the top of the throttle pedel so that there is less leverage?
ORB 227 1 Cars Posted December 9, 2006 I just designed this little addition. OK Simple Piece of metal bar, hole in either end Hole about 1/4 from the top to affix to the inner wing as a pivot. the rest is self explanatory. Should make the pedal travel work with the TB's to allow more sensitive driving.
matt205xs 0 Posted December 9, 2006 TBH i heard alot about the throttle or lack on bike carb conversions but when i installed mine i didnt have any trouble and its just as light as my old 1.6 with same length of travel on the pedal? The way ive done it is as follows:- Use a Mountain bike cable to run from pedal arm (standard) to a v brake type angled tube which fits into the follower of the throttle linkages to the carb, wrap the cable thu the groove of the linage going thee longest rout around then using again MB parts the bolt with a hole in and nut which when tight secures the cable in place, then to add a bit more 'nimbleness' to the throttle i added a spring going from the linkage to and attaching the other end to the carb itself, email me ill get you some pics if you want,
205007 12 Posted December 9, 2006 yes please i will deffo try that! ill pm you
Dream Weaver 2 Posted December 11, 2006 Have you got a decent throttle stop on your setup? Mine was bad at first as the butterflies were sticking so on initial pedal opening it had to get over the stickyness before it would move. With a decent stop on it's now OK. I'd prefer it a bit lighter, but its liveable with now. I like ORB's idea, and may try that.
ORB 227 1 Cars Posted December 11, 2006 lol forgot I had drawn that. Must take more note when pissed Hope it works Maybe it needs a return spring on it to make it a bit tighter and more responsive. Let me know
Rippthrough 98 Posted December 11, 2006 lol forgot I had drawn that. Must take more note when pissed Hope it works Maybe it needs a return spring on it to make it a bit tighter and more responsive. Let me know What it definately needs is one of the cables turning around so they both enter the same way
Rippthrough 98 Posted December 11, 2006 why? Otherwise your trying to push a cable.
ORB 227 1 Cars Posted December 11, 2006 This is true But you can push a cable, although, a thin thing would be crap I would use wire
Rippthrough 98 Posted December 11, 2006 This is trueBut you can push a cable, although, a thin thing would be crap I would use wire I would use the same linkage but put both cables on the same side!
