Atari Boy 11 Posted December 4, 2006 My 205 has a sagging drivers door. When you open it, the door drops slightly and when you shut it you have to lift it slightly for it the secure. Once it is shut it is quite happy. What should I be looking at replacing and how? Any assistance would be appreciated.

CaptainP 2 Posted December 4, 2006 Try opening the door and pushing on it, does it let you lift it up and down? If the answers yes definitley some door pin wear - if its bad you can even indentify the pin. Have a read through the guides etc, that's the very thing that led me to this site infact

CaptainP 2 Posted December 4, 2006 Depending on the type of door pin will determine whether it's gonna be a fun job or not
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted December 5, 2006 The screw thread door pins don't wear anything like the way the roll pins type do but they are worse for door removal as the threads rust in. Graham.

Atari Boy 11 Posted December 6, 2006 My car is an '89, phase 1.5. With my luck if there are two types I will have the more complicated one
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted December 6, 2006 It might not be the door pins - the door may just need to be realigned. Take all the interior trim off and loosen the nuts holding the door brackets to the car (on the door side). Then sit in the car and get someone to press against the door so that it is tight and flush to the body. Then retighten the nuts.
axnutty 10 Posted December 7, 2006 Just re did the drivers door on my 205 today. It only had a bit of wobble but I had a new set of pins from Peugeot and a spare bit of time. It wasnt too bad and went a lot easier than when I did it on my old car. However the wear was actually in the brackets from the A post. So its no better! I found removing the trim and then undoing the bolts to remove the door like in the post above the easiest way to do it. That way when your hammering out the hinge pins your not mashing the door shuts etc... On my last 205 the door hinges were really REALLY bad! I had to weld in new hinge brackets on the A post. WHich was fairly interesting involving plum lines etc, as obviously I needed it all to line up prefectly. Which leads me to wonder before I have to do it to my new car - is there an oversize door hinge available...maybe off another car? So you just drill out the old hinges and fit the new thicker pin.
