pugbliss 0 Posted December 3, 2006 hi all can some one pls tell me what route the wire from the starter motor goes? (1.6gti) i know it runs from the starter under the inlet maifold to the brown multi plug (which ive cut off) but where does it go from there? it just seems to dissapear into the engine bay i only ask as im so pissed off with the dreded will it or wont it start on 1 turn of the key. cheers joe p.s is it hard to replace the whole lengh of it???? pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted December 3, 2006 If you've got the brown multi-plug then it will run back through the engine bay with the ecu loom & into the car in the drivers footwell through the bulkhead. There should be another two brown multiplugs near the heater matrix & it goes into the larger of the two. The split to the tachy relay & ecu happens on the engine loom side of this plug. Graham.
