notamondayfan 44 Posted November 30, 2006 hi all for the past few weeks my car has been playing up. it starts 1st time on cold wet damp mornings, but doesnt start 1st time once its got hot. basically i have to turn the engine over for a few seconds, stop, then do it again, and it usually fires up, and then its ok. just strange. the engine is totally standard 1.9 appart from a k&n induction thing. any ideas? cheers, dean
Wurzel 16 Posted November 30, 2006 Possibly dirty injectors? When cold and miserable, the duty cycle of the injectors is increased and so will mask any poor injector spray patterns. When hot, and the duty cycle is less (ie less fuel for a given time), the engine might struggle to start initially. That's an educated guess by the way, I have no proof
