Livelee 0 Posted November 29, 2006 I've just collected my xu10 sump and it has the temp sender in place. The sender from my xu9 has a single wire attached to it. The new sender has a plug style connector with 2 terminals. Can I just attach my wire to 1 / both of them and will it work? I'm using an aftermarket gauge. Many Thanks Dan
jackherer 543 Posted November 30, 2006 yes, just connect a single wire to one of the pins and it will behave like an XU9 sender.
B1ack_Mi16 67 Posted November 30, 2006 yes, just connect a single wire to one of the pins and it will behave like an XU9 sender. It kinda works that way on mine 2.3 16v engine. But pressure reads on the low side, so I guess the senders aren't operating with the same resistance range.

pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted December 1, 2006 You could swap the sender for the XU9 one of the right thread as they were made in two thread sizes & the later ones (14mm) are the same size as the XU10's afaik. Graham.

I think the new 14mm ones were only found on the late gtis - after 93. I phoned up peugeot to get a price on a later type 14mm one and its about 15 quid inc vat (part number 0242 81 i think but check before ordering). I also asked out of interest how much the GTI6 one is and he came back with a price of £70 !!! bargin...

Livelee 0 Posted February 19, 2007 Sorry to bump my old thread but my sender and or existing 3rd party gauge has given up. I'm just going to buy a new gauge and sender. Is the hole in the XU10 GTi-6 sump 14mm? Cheers Dan
