Injectors Question. 1.6gti Vs 1.9mi16

My mi had a faulty injector and the only spare we had was an injector from a 1.6gti. Would it be ok to leave it in or should I replace it with a correct one? What is the difference between the 2? I can't imagine a 1.6 injector ever gets near 100% cycle so it should be able to flow what extra fuel the mi needs?

The mi injectors are the same as the 1.9.

 

It doesn't matter about the duty cycle on the 1.6 injector, they spray in less fuel per squirt than the 1.9 injectors, so your car will be running lean on that cylinder. The management isn't clever enough to compensate for this.

So it would be a good idea to replace it with a 1.9 injector before Bedford track day this Saturday then? :-)

Yes do otherwise various engine parts in that cylinder are likely to melt!
