clifton 0 Posted November 23, 2006 ino this has been coverd a million times but im just wondering what bucket seats to get including subframes if possible, my budget isnt that big its about £400-£450. or if anyone has any good condition ones they want taking off of their hands
smckeown 1 Posted November 23, 2006 if your not competing then 2nd hand is always a good bet. The weight of seats vary wildly (usually indicated in the price). Also if your not too concerned with weight then heavier and cheaper steel mounts can be used I'm pretty sure with real buckets you have to use cannot use seatbelts, but i'm not too sure on that. Always some on ebay etc... cheers sean
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted November 24, 2006 If you can try a few different seats before you buy do, even sitting in them in a showroom (Larkspeed) will give an idea of how comfy they might be. I'm pretty sure with real buckets you have to use cannot use seatbelts, but i'm not too sure on that. Seatbelts can be used with proper bucket seats if you are willing to experiment, I did with mine & they are fine. I haven't taken it for an MOT since I fitted them though but I'll get them checked over soon before I swap the car to my daily drive. http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...mp;#entry568503 Graham. clifton 0 Posted November 24, 2006 ive been looking at cobra monaco's but they dont seem to hold you that well tbh, and ive tried the cobra clubmans and they hold me better but imo i dont think they look as good, im going to be using harnesses with these, and im not to botherd about wieght that much as i wont be competing just maybe the odd trackday! cheers
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted November 24, 2006 I have a Cobra Clubman, it's comfy, if a little cheap. Sits you quite low also. I run the seat belt through the top loop and side hole and it works fine. Don't be using harnesses unless you have a cage fitted.
sonofsam 5 Posted November 25, 2006 (edited) I have Sparco Sprints and @ just over a £100 ish each they are the most comfy/hold you in seats I have tried:D for that price and look great, IMO of course! I did try using seat belts, but where I mounted mine straight to the floor the diagonal belt was right across my neck Edited November 25, 2006 by sonofsam
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted November 25, 2006 I did try using seat belts, but where I mounted mine straight to the floor the diagonal belt was right across my neck Loop it through the upper harness hole in the seatback, also looks like you are always wearing a seatbelt to the car behind..
