smckeown 1 Posted November 23, 2006 Hi all, I have been playing with cartest 2000 recently, it's quiet fun! Here are some interesting results: Compare my car with 195 and 215 wide tyres: 1/4 mile: 0.4 secs quicker (must be the extra grip off the line) brand hatch lap 1 secs quicker (wow that's a lot) Compare my car with a non-stripped out 205 mi16: * 950kgs car, same weight driver, plus 15kkgs engine addition 1/4 mile: 1.67 secs quicker brand hatch lap 5.9 secs quicker (seriously faster) Compare my car with a BMW E36 M3 EVO (321 bhp): 1/4 mile: 0.1 secs quicker (almost the same) brand hatch lap 1 sec quicker (nice) nurburgring 6.4 secs slower (as expected really) Sean
Martin W 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Sean - I've toyed with the idea of wider tyres on the front, was thinking 205 or 215 but apart from the steep increase in price you'll probably have to pull the wings out to avoid them catching on the wheels. Interesting you use brands hatch in your example because that place has become local track Can I assume you talking about the GP circuit raher than the indy? Adnic69 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Yes Sean, we all know how wonderful your car is.... Only messing, its quite impressive though how quick it is. Have you had it up against an Mi16 on the road??
Batfink 201 Posted November 23, 2006 a stripped out mi16 would be a more interesting comparison
smckeown 1 Posted November 23, 2006 (edited) Compare my car with a stripped out 205 mi16/xu9j4 (mi16 box): *800kgs, plus same driver plus 15kgs engine weight penalty 1/4 mile: 0.76 secs quicker (almost the same) brand hatch lap 2.6 sec quicker (nice) nurburgring 8.3 secs quicker To make it a more accurate comparison, I need to put i nthe detailed mi16 power figures all thugh the rev range; actually maybe mine will look even better then Edited November 23, 2006 by smckeown
