saveloy 8 Posted November 15, 2006 A front shock has given up. I have adjustable Avo's, but I don't want another set. Too many people have had grief with new sets. So, what shall I buy? It's only the fronts I need and I want adjustability.

saveloy 8 Posted November 16, 2006 Poof? Poof?? Have you not just purchased a 316 with a RED interior? Don't throw stones gay boy. I've tried Konis. The Avos were better. I may well go the Gaz route. But, the Billies are tempting. What do they cost this week?
Dino 3 Posted November 16, 2006 Well you still havent answered why you need adjustability.........you never go on track because you 'can't get time off' yet you are self employed! Lets be honest now - how many times did you adjust the AVOs?! Personally I found a setting I liked and thats where they stayed. Once the rear AVOs had been replaced by Bilsteins there was no call for adjustment as 1) you cant adjust them and 2) Bilstein know what they are doing hence you dont NEED to adjust them!. tom_m 0 Posted November 16, 2006 you can get teh AVOs rebuilt you know, maximum of £90 quid for both to be fully rebuilt with new shafts, valves and seals. they usually only need seals tho which is £15 a side. why get new ones if you like what you've got
Doof 11 Posted November 16, 2006 Gotta say i'm really pleased with my Billy sprintlines from miles. Excellent shocks!
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted November 16, 2006 Ohlins if you have a few grand to spend? Leda make some adjustable coil-overs now that have something daft like 13000 possible combinations. But seriously, just get a pair of Bilsteins.
saveloy 8 Posted November 16, 2006 I would like adjustability, because I will get back on track. I will. The last time I tweaked them was Pugfest. I'm not even considering re-building the AVOS, since they need to be off the car and I don't have another motor to drive. I think it's time for Billies then.
