Mandic 0 Posted November 9, 2006 Hi, What are the benefits or downsides of different throttle butterfly positions? Is it better to have 40mm butterfly right at the head port or having one away from the head which is 45mm (consider having runners which ID changes gradually from 40 to 45mm)? I'm asking this cos surely butterfly and spindle must restrict flow... So maybe having it at the end of the runner is a bit better? Cheers Ziga

Cheers Ziga Close to the head will give a sharper throttle response, but if the intake ports are 40mm, you don't really want the butterfly restricting them. You'd get away with spindle-less ones there I think.
