205s16 Tacho Not Working

Recommended Posts

Guest renn_205

Paul my mechanic hasn't been able to resolve this issue with the existing tacho working with the new s16 (XU10J4) engine injection system and ECU (bosch MP3.2, I believe).

The tacho requires a positive feed, with the existing one only having a negative feed. He has tried some simple electronic modifications, but to no avail. The other after-market solutions are not to my liking, digital screen or big tacho, a la 'bro' style.

Looks like we need a instrument cluster (preferably just the tacho bit) from a pug with a Bosch MP3.2 compatible injection system.

which would be a 1992+:

-306 s16

-405 Mi16

what about

-205 GTi ?

-306 2.016v (Rally, convertible)

-206 GTi & 2.0L CC?

My info or description maybe a bit out as I am paraphrasing from paul and combining it with my own (lack of) knowledge and logic.

Any suggestions, want to get the blue slip this weekend! Need this to get the dash back together.

You want to look in the aftermarket engine management section of the forum, this type of thing has been discussed several times
