[project] 205 Mi32 Project - The Twin Mi16 Engined 205

Recommended Posts

adrian_gti

wow can't believe you have done all that in such a short amount of time... took my local garage almost 3 weeks to change power steering belt and exhaust gasket in the same time you completed phase 1!!!

can't wait to see the finished project. I think it would be my dream car if it had a genuine T16 kit.. :)

keep up the great work! love the logo btw :(

Just spent 30 mins or so reading all of this post, and what can I say!

WOW!!!

Good work there, the sort of thing I'd love to do, but have neither the skills nor the balls to do it!

Going to spend another 30 mins or more pouring through all the photos you've taken of the build.

Great read!

Si

thanks for the comments :).

after completing rear engine's electrics and cooling system, we attempt

and manage to start the rear engine for the very first time!

it started fine, with the grease on the exhaust manifold burning off a bit.

Never seen such good access to the exhaust manifold in a 205 :D

You've certainly been busy...

lol yes, very easy access :(.

the engine had been standing for a few years then we took it apart and

it had been standing for a few more years again, then we assembled it

and after a few more months it started... so excuse it if it's running

a bit rough :D:(.

hmm well it takes me nearly half a day to sort, prepare and upload all the photos,

while having in mind a story-like way of presentation and writing all the descriptions

and then finally post a preview of the update on all the forums that i have the topic on,

so i really need to wait 'till i have enough time to allocate to making an update.

however, i'll be starting Phase 6 story very soon... asap that is! :D

thanks for your encouragement and interest.

Phase 6: Fueling System, Instrumentation & Misc

the first part of the Phase 6 story is all about making the fueling system:

and doing misc work like an oil change, so we could start both engines together!

you can find the first part of the story (with 37 pics) on THIS PAGE.

a short video of starting the engines together coming soon!

thanks.

Its a great project you have going cybernck, it is something my m8 said about a year ago "how fast would a 205 be with two mi engines in" and we laughed thinking of the impossible. Are there plans to bring it over to the uk this year for some shows etc like FCS and pugfest.

Hi CN, just watched the vid. Q's

Are they already linked to one ignition key?

You did mention the ability to run on just one engine so I was wondering if they were started independently?

How do plan to tackle the throttle linkages, unless I've missed that part?

DrS :(

MiD> lol, imagine how it felt listening to it in live! :P and imagine the neighbours :(.

DrS> they're started seperately. and check Phase 3 for throttle linkages .
