time for another update folks :(.

in the third and final episode of Phase 1 series, named "Hit the road, Pug!", our main character gets

a lick of paint, some nice bits installed on it, gets back on the ground and leaves the spot cruising

on the back of a flat-bed lorry :).

this update (52 pics) starts with the last pic on THIS PAGE and covers about 8 days of work.

so... after nearly 3 weeks of hard work... Phase 1 - Rear End Reconstruction is complete! :D

stay tuned for the forthcoming Phase 2 - Rear Engine Installation story B).

thanks.

Good stuff CN (some of that local scenary looks familiar!). You know my feelings, a truly awesome endevour and smiles of new proportions and intensity will soon be born when you press the VERY loud pedal. :D

Reference the intentional holes on the body work, filler and odd paint schemes at present, and paraphrasing Star Wars here, Episode IV (aka the 1st one of 1978): 'she may not look like much kid, but she's got it where it counts'. Maybe the Mi32 will indeed be very much like the Millenium Falcon, making 'point 5 past light speed' :)

.........15 years ago the MI16 conversion was a only a dream......

And 13 years ago I forefilled that dream myself ;) But my god these projects would seem to be a nightmare to me.

Fair play to anyone who gives this kind of thing ago :D

Looking Good at present !

Are you thinking of changing from Mi32 too T32 when you have got it all sorted and any probs ironed out ?? :D:D:D

Phase 2: Rear Engine Installation

after transporting the car to another workshop, it was time to get our Mi16 engine out of

the garage to put it where it belongs and matters the most - in the back of the 205 Mi32 :).

205Mi32_Ph2_016.thumb.jpg

you can find the complete story (with 46 pics) on THIS PAGE.

it covers another 3 weeks of work - much longer than we had planned, but it wasn't our fault...

thanks.

Oh my... that is SOOO unusual to see, isn't it?! :-O

it is indeed very strange to look at something we've all pictured in our minds so much :)

Forgiven! Due to contributions to 205 (often insane) religion.

Amen

P.S. Don't you need 2, or am I being dumb here?

not dumb, merely unobservant :huh::o

And here's our custom 215mm 4-paddle sintermetal clutch plate with solid center. The front engine already has one, which we now got serviced with new paddles too.

Clutch plate is just like mine Nikica! Looking very good, has to end up as a T32 one day, Im sure it will. Are twin engine cars legal in Bosnia then, as far as I'm aware you cant drive them on UK roads legally?

well, we will get it homologated and road-legal ;).

i think in the UK you can get it road legal too, but with only one engine driving the wheels at a time.

in the same fashion, our rear engine will be noted as "addition for racing only" :P.

time for another update :D.

Phase 3: Dual Controls & Brakes

this is where proper engineering (and problems!) begin and what most of you have been waiting for! :o

in this chapter we tackle the dual clutch and dual throttle operation unit:

205Mi32_Ph3_021.thumb.jpg

as well as sort out the brakes to get a potentially usable car:

205Mi32_Ph3_032.thumb.jpg

you can find the first part of the story (with 34 pics) on THIS PAGE.

thanks.

sorry for the delay, caused by web-access problems.

in this update, to conclude the Phase 3 story, we make the dual-gearshift system.

205Mi32_Ph3_057.thumb.jpg

you can find the 2nd/last part of the story (with 34 pics again) on THIS PAGE.

after nearly 2 weeks of engineering, hard work and a lot of sweat... Phase 3 is complete!

stay tuned for Phase 4 of the 205 Mi32 Project!

p.s. if anyone's got an old style 205 GE-quickshift L-lever for sale, please let me know!

thanks.

amazing project, and ur seem to be doing it so quickly for what it is! i always plan a time for minor jobs and then times it by 3 for the actual time needed :)

gl cant wait to see the finished beast!

true but note that the story is running late behind the actualy work so i'm

able to present it like this. in each post i said how much time it actually took

(time of work, so a bit more with pauses). but still, it's pretty fast i'd say :).

Nice one, the wiring, fuelling, exhaust & cooling left to do so the second engine is running. ;)

I think I've spotted the parts cd error, the linkages are shown connecting to the gearbox crossed over. :) spot the difference here & here.

well first we have to get the front engine running and then the rear one :).

yeah you've got it right about the mistake.

it gave us a lot of unnecessary problems while thinking how to sovle the linkage

as i was sure they were not connected like that, yet my father was trying

to engineer it going by the picture... so we've had "discussions", lol.
