Conversion Specific Coolant Hoses:2.0l Turbo.

My TT is supposed to have a 13row Mocal oil cooler but it doesn't. Just the standard Pug one. I never see the temps get very hot though. As a precaution, I use Fully Synth Silkoline Pro-S oil, which no doubt helps a lot.

hi,

after few test...

i think this would be best

Yes, but I would like to keep the metal water pipe from the Turbo and not have to put in too many reducing T-Pieces as there a bugger to source!

So do you think a 16row cooler is a tad overkill?

im going to try running no water cooled turbo but use an alloy sump and standard oil cooler i think! my fiesta turbo ran 22psi wth no water to the turbo! and the oil was never soo hot really.

might have another idea tomorow:P

On our project car we removed the water cooling to the turbo. This has the advantage of allowing the car to run cooler, as the water is not passing through the hot turbo. The downside to this is that the car must be allowed to warm up and cool down properly before and after use, which can be inconvenient for short journeys

I know this is an old thread but thought I would add my solution to it. The drawing is how I have done my coolant system and the only extra bits needed are two tee pieces, the rest is standard hosing plus a few off cuts.

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

(If all goes well it should be running on saturday ;) )
