vern 0 Posted November 4, 2006 I am building up a TT engine and was contemplating putting a lower temp stat, has any one else done this, is there any pros or cons to doing this, I found a thread below but it never answers the question on a TT http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...c=50773&hl= Vern
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted November 4, 2006 I've fitted a lower temp stat to mine (non turbo) & its fine. Runs at a slightly lower temperature generally but I'm swapping back to an 89'c one for winter. Graham.
mrswampy 0 Posted November 4, 2006 yep i run one in my s16 thinks its 82 or 84 deg rather than 89. its a quintin hazel item from my ocal factors and aint had any probs with it, probs a bit low for winter but ill just fit a normal grill back on if it causes any probs rather than the mesh one i have on it now. C_W 3 1 Cars Posted November 5, 2006 I've run a 72degree in my Mi16 without problems for about 2 or 3 years.
vern 0 Posted November 5, 2006 Thanks for replies, where did you get the 72 deg one from C_W?. Is there any gain other than reduced temp, is there any downsides to running a cooler engine. Anybody with a Turbo engine have any input to this thread?.
