DTORU 0 1 Cars Posted October 31, 2006 I have just got hold of a S16 motor from a 306 but the bottem ends are rumbling, i have a 1.8 turbo diesel engine with a good crank, my question is can i use the diesel crank to repair the S16 motor and if so i asume id use the diesel main bearing shells not the 306 ones? Thanks DTROU
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted November 3, 2006 You can use the diesel crank afaik but it'll be 88mm stroke. That'll change your engine to 2044 from 1998cc & you might need to do some other work for it to be right. This topic shoud give you more info on the extra work required. Graham. Thanks For That mate, So not only do i fix the motor id get more cc's. So if im using a diesel crank id need the matching diesel main bearing and big end bearing shells i.e id order the std size ones for the diesel crank?
