Rally Slag 0 Posted October 30, 2006 i posted this on the 309 forum but dont think anyone knows the answer on there. ok, i wana remove that silly dim dip resistor on my car, my AX had one as did my phase 1 205, looked exactly the same, cigar shapped thing with 3 pins on it. Just unplug it and then the headlight dont come on when you turn the sidelights on. Where is it on a 309 goodwood 5 door though? there is one that looks the item just aboe the air horn compressor near the radiator, so i unpluged that but it didnt work. Anyone know where it is? cheers
Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted October 31, 2006 the one near the rad isthe radiator thermostat, its normaly in the wing area on passenegr side IIRC.
Rob Thomson 6 Posted October 31, 2006 On mine (1989 3-door) it was clipped to the near-side bumper mount bracket, just below the headlamp. You can also remove one of the relays from next to the header tank - has the same effect. It's easy enough to work out which one, get someone to turn the ignition on & off with the sidelights turned on, you'll hear/feel it clicking.
Rally Slag 0 Posted October 31, 2006 why not? its my car, thats what i wana do, i aint a chav or anything with blue sidelights, just when im out in my car at the weekend and i leave my engine running, i leave my sidelights on and as im usualy parked oposite other cars i dont like to blind them with my headlights, but if my sidelights are on i dont get idiots who cant see my car attempting dognuts in the nans fiestas with a couple of plastic trays under the rear wheels sliding near my car

Rally Slag 0 Posted October 31, 2006 i leave it running when im in the car, i never leave the car unattended and not locked up without a steering lock thing on it. i go car meets at the weekends with my mates, everyone parks up in a big car park next to each and in the winter not alot of people ge tout the cars so we all park up all round the car park oposite eachother, engines running to keep warm and windows down a bit to chat, and watch jap cars drift etc etc. most people would notice if you were driving around with just the sidelights on, cant see very much at night but cheers for the guys who answerd, i'll ave a look at the weekend again
