Cracked Weber 40

Recommended Posts

I saw some leaking petrol on a mates mk 1 Granada earlier, I looked closely and found that it was coming from one of the three weber 40s, from a crack in the cover.

I've never worked on carbs before, is that plate easy to change and do you need any gaskets etc?

Is it likely to need any adjustments after its repaired? Got a trackday booked on friday.....

Like most gaskets they can often be reused. Or sometimes they tear. If you're careful they'll be alright. You can always make another out of a cornflake packet.

You might be able to repair that crack with araldite.

No adjustments needed if you dont disturb any of the adjusting screws.
