Quick Hubs Question (not The Usual)

After driving a 205 with gti6 brakes a minute ago i have decided i need them...

 

Looking at a hub it seems the difference between the 1.9 + 1.6 carriers is in the bearing bit... so can you just put 1.9 bearings into a 1.6 hub? Does that make sense? I did a search but just found lots of references to base model hubs... which are rare here.

I understand that you can use a base model drive falnge with a 1,6 hub and driveshafts to give the correct offset.

Wait a minute... i got that question around the wrong way. Sorry...

 

Can the 1.6 centre bit be put into a 1.9 hub to save getting the bigger shafts?
