Bellhouseing Modifications

Recommended Posts

inferno

Im still toying with pug front engine rear wheel drive ideas. forget the ford or other non pug engines, it needs to be as much pug as possible.

so xu10 engine, bx/405 rear diff and possible subrame, im just stuck for a gearbox.

Can anyone see a problem with cutting bellhousings off of a be3 /be4 box and a vauxhall omega 2litre 16v box and welding the be bellhousing to the vx box? assuming the input shaft was made to fit a vx friction plate, and that was held to a pug flywheel with a pug outer plate?

the welding the box would be easy enough and not expensive, webbing can be added to ensure strenth. then obviously a mix and match prop setup to fix to the rear diff shouldnt be too hard.

remember cost of fabrication is immaterial, ill eventually get my ass into gear and do it myself, but everytime i put an idea to the board i find something to put the dampers on the whole idea!!

It's the LDV box that's RWD and uses the right bellhousing to mate to the XU engine

The FSO pick up has XUD in RWD as well, the Boxer is FWD or 4WD.
